INTRODUCTION
Federation of Indian Muslim Associations, a non-profit in Kuwait, unites Muslim Associations from all over India to promote welfare, education, and harmony. Recognized by the Indian Embassy, it has supported community initiatives for nearly three decades.
EVENT
FIMA conducted its elections for the 2025-26 term on December 5, 2024, at Thakkara Restaurant in Kuwait.
OPENING
The event began with Quran recitation by Master Fatallah Anas, following praises to Allah (SWT) and salutations to Prophet Muhammah (PBUH).
WELCOME SPEECH
The FIMA Secretary-General, Mr. Mubeen Ahmed Sheik, extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and Elections Commissioner, Dr. Nayeemuddin, President of IMWA, along with all esteemed invitees, including Patrons, Presidents, General Secretaries of Member Associations, Coordination Council Members, and FIMA well-wishers. In his address, he highlighted the importance of unity and collective efforts among the 19 diverse member associations representing India, emphasizing that these elements are crucial for FIMA’s future growth. He mentioned FIMA’s strength not only lies in its structure but its people – its member organization and CC members. This growth is to be achieved through active participation, collaboration, & innovative thinking. He also outlined the event’s agenda.

PRESIDENT SPEECH Mr. Salim Desai
President Mr. Salim Desai extended a warm welcome to the esteemed dignitaries and provided an insightful overview of the circumstances under which the EC took the helm of FIMA in the postpandemic era. This era was marked by the establishment of new norms and a reduction in activities and official communication channels.
He articulated the Strategic Vision, which emphasized Educational and economic empowerment, and elaborated on the team’s achievements and challenges. He underscored their diligent efforts to optimize the use of available resources.
President Mr. Desai stressed that empowerment transcends mere financial aid and charitable activities, presenting numerous illustrative cases. He also highlighted the community’s ongoing challenges in participation and representation. In conclusion, he expressed gratitude to all attendees and extended his best wishes to the incoming team.

GENERAL REPORT By Mr. Mubeen Ahmed Sheik
Secretary General announced that the General Report will be segmented into two sections. The initial section will concentrate on activities while the subsequent section will address the Financial Audit Report. The report was delivered via a presentation He commenced the report by emphasizing the Strategy and Vision of FIMA EC 2022-23, which centered on the following pillars:
1. Promotion of Social Empowerment
2. Economic Empowerment of the Community
3. Educational & Professional Development
4. Religious Harmony & Image Building.
The programs and activities undertaken by FIMA’s team were aligned with these strategic objectives. All the programs were presented with overview and details.
In the end, he called upon leaders to reaffirm their commitments, foster engagement, and strengthen relationships. We conveyed our aspirations for FIMA’s success and extended our best wishes to the incoming team.
ELECTION PROCEEDING
Dr. Nayeemuddin, the Chief Guest and Election Commissioner, was invited on stage by the outgoing Secretary General, along with the outgoing President and Vice President. He conducted the elections, announcing the positions, received nominations, and revealed the new Office Bearers and Executive Members elected unanimously.

FIMA PRESIDENT
Mr. Kareem Irfan conveyed gratitude for the support received and reflected on FIMA’s past achievements and future challenges. He stressed he importance of active participation from member associations for FIMA’s success and to restore its positive image. He expressed concern about how the community is absolutely little to non existent in retaining its right and position in key areas- Education, Economy & Technology. He further gave examples for civilizations of Baghdad & Samarkand at their pinnacle and the reasons of their fall. He announced the FIMA Iftar on March 13, 2025, and shared plans to publish a calendar of upcoming programs and activities urged to have dependable CC information for effective coordination and collaboration.


FIMA SECRETARY GENERAL
Mr. Siddeeque Valiyakat emphasized the crucial role and significance of FIMA, highlighting its reputation among Indian ambassadors in the past, as well as within the diplomatic community, senior officials from the State of Kuwait, and esteemed members of the community. He underscored the importance of CC meetings, effective communication, and collaboration. Mr. Valiyakat reaffirmed the commitment to making FIMA an outstanding organization and achieving exceptional results as part of its nearly 30-year legacy.
FELICITATION FROM GUEST
Several senior members in including Mr. Mohammed Hanief, Dr. Gali expressed their views, support for FIMA and congratulated the new team.


VOTE OF THANKS
Dr.Hidayatullah, outgoing Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. He thanked Allah SWT for giving us the guidance and privilege to uphold such an event. He thanked the Chief Guest and all the Dignitaries including the outgoing executive committee along with the Management of Thakkara Restaurant for its services. The vote of thanks concluded with a prayer (dua) for the meeting’s conclusion.


DINNER & INTERACTION
All the guests were invited to have dinner and enjoy an open interaction.
